Steps for Applicants:

  • Complete Application with $90 non-refundable fee.

  • Request a Transcript from current school.
    Download Transcript Request form.

  • Request References-These are all digital references completed through our portal and require only that you provide the email address of the teacher for whom the reference is requested. We will handle the rest. Depending on the age of the student, specific teacher and/or principal references will be required.

  • Applying for grades K4-K5: We request a teacher reference if the child has attended preschool.
  • Applying for grades 1-5: Two (2) references are required. Students must provide a teacher reference from their current academic teacher. They must also provide a second reference from another school faculty member, including another academic teacher, a previous teacher, counselor, principal, or a special area teacher.
  • Applying for grades 6-12: Three (3) references are required. Two (2) teacher references (one teacher must be current math or English teacher, the second can be a teacher of your choice from the current or previous year), as well as a principal or school counselor reference.
  • Entrance Test K3-12

    • K3-K5 applicants are scheduled to participate in classroom observations conducted by GAC teachers January-March on a weekday. You will be contacted by the GAC Early Childhood Village office to schedule your observation date. Observation fee is $50.

    • 1st-5th grade applicants are scheduled to test on a Saturday morning January-March. GAC uses a combination of the OLSAT test, along with reading and math placement tests for evaluation. Testing fee is $75.

    • Grades 6-12 applicants take the SSAT. Please register to take the SSAT at ssat.org. We recommend that you schedule a test date October-February to allow time for us to receive test scores. Please request that your scores are sent digitally to GAC at testing code 3525.

  • Interview-Once an applicant file is complete, it will be reviewed. If an applicant in grades 1-12 seems like a good fit, he or she will be invited to interview. An applicant will be notified if they are selected to interview.


**Rolling Admissions: Typical admissions season run September-April. However, GAC is able to accept qualified applicants year-round for immeduate or mid-year transfer provided there are spots available. Call or email the Admissions office if you would like to inquire about an immediate or mid-year transfer May-January.
