GAC's after school program offers many Discovery Activities for Early Childhood Village and Elementary students. Your child can discover their inner artist, learn how to play a new sport, see what it's like to be on stage, conduct science experiments, learn a new language, and so much more.

“Art for Everyone” is designed to get everyone interested in art. Your budding artist will experiment with drawing, painting, mixed media, and crafts.
All players at all levels will learn about the game of basketball, improve skills, learn sportsmanship, and have fun on the court.
Are you new to the game or are you a chess master? This activity will help enhance participants’ critical thinking and develop.m.ent, regardless of their chess skill level.
Kindergartners will explore their creativity on stage as their talents come alive through singing, dancing, and scene work. Village drama cast will perform the pre-show at the Fall and Spring drama productions.
Come join the fun and explore the fabulous world of acting. Your child will experience creativity at its finest through singing, choreography, and scene work. Students will work together to put on drama productions in November and May.
Students will be introduced to all aspects of filmmaking and have an opportunity to be in front of and behind the camera as they shoot short movies, documentaries, music videos, and use green screen effects.
(www.totalgolfadventures.com): Participants will learn the fundamentals of the golf swing and rules and etiquette and will discover a passion for golf and develop and improve motor skills and coordination. Total Golf Adventures of Atlanta’s (TGA) enrichment program will encourage advancement while building confidence and self-esteem. All necessary equip.m.ent including golf clubs and new technologically advance practice balls will be provided.
Music is proven to stimulate our brains! Learn guitar in a relaxed group setting. This class is perfect for the beginner or someone with experience – every skill level is welcome. Guitar rental is available.
(www.holmesma.com): Your child will experience a complete training environment by Holmes Martial Arts, Inc., an organization of Tae Kwon Do training and fitness. No matter what your child’s skill level is, the purpose of this activity is to share skills and resources, promote excellence in the martial arts, and encourage physical fitness. Students will test at the end of each session to obtain the next belt level. Test fee is included in the cost.
Students will become familiar with Chinese characters, phrases, and sentence patterns in this perfect introduction to the Chinese language and culture. Participants will develop an appreciation and respect for the language and will be able to begin to speak, read, understand, and write Mandarin Chinese.
Students will work independently or collaboratively to create an amazing world of their own. Minecraft is a 3D simulation game where students can learn, problem solve, and explore as they use resources and math, science, and engineering skills.
(speed and agility): Developed by GAC’s strength and conditioning coach, this activity will feature age appropriate games that will help improve speed and agility in sports. Develop athletic skills, get exercise, and have fun at the same time.

Students begin to think about science as each themed class offers a variety of hands-on inquiry-based activities and a take-home project. New topics offered each term. Learn and improve your soccer skills with expert coaching. All skills levels are encouraged to join this activity.
Athletes of all levels will enjoy playing a different sport during each session and have good old-fashioned fun. Baseball, basketball, soccer, and more will be fun and fast paced. The experience of participating in different sports will allow your child to stay engaged and motivated throughout the program.
Players of all levels will enjoy this tennis enrichment program focused on instilling a passion for the game, developing skills, having fun, and building confidence.
(www.cdaspirit.com): Tumblers will work on the basics of body control and body position with National Champion Atlanta Jayhawks coach. Participants will learn progressions for back handsprings, cartwheels, round-offs, backbends, handstands, and walkovers. For the more advanced tumbler, standing back handspring series and round-off back handspring series will be perfected.
Fundamentals of the game for all levels will be. Players will use the Naik Athletic Training Center and baseball fields on the GAC campus. Students will need to bring their own baseball gloves.
Children thrive on music and it is one of the best vehicles for develop.m.ent in early childhood. Kindermusik curriculum is proven to improve a child’s brain develop.m.ent. Your child will learn, have fun, and develop a lifelong love of music!
Players will learn the basics and fundamentals of lacrosse. Students must bring their own lacrosse stick.
Students will be immersed in science and technology challenges and will get to have fun with LEGOS. Research and design will help participants arrive at creative solutions to real world scientific questions and problems.
Beginner 1st & 2nd Grade - Students will learn basic programming logic and that they can make anything happen with the power of code. Participants will learn how to make their creations come to life by dragging and dropping real code.
Advanced 3rd-5th Grade - Students will use code to create their own interactive games, stories, and animations. Participants will learn the basics of JavaScript and how to create their own app.
